Belgravia Partners with Teemates in South Australia to lift junior participation

Overview

As junior golf participation reaches a national all-time high for participation, Belgravia Leisure introduced Golf Australia’s TeeMates initiative at their courses in South Australia in 2023.

Golf Australia’s TeeMates supports kids and teens on their golfing journeys with access to all types of golf across Australia. With reduced green fee costs, a Golf Australia handicap and competitive playing opportunities, as a collective we are paving the way for a great future of golf on and off the greens.

To support the integration of the Teemates program at Valley View & Glanville, Belgravia have delivered junior golf tournaments in partnership with Golf South Australia.

The TeeMates Par Three Series utilises Valley View Golf Course and Glanville Golf Course, both dynamic Par Three venues. In which, Junior golfers from clubs across the state come together to compete, connect and further their passion for golf in a fun, inclusive environment.

As partners of the TeeMates program, both venues played a key role in creating accessible, junior-friendly experiences that support the growth of the sport at grassroots level.

Target Market

The TeeMates program and Par Three Series is designed for junior golfers aged across entry-level to emerging talent, including both girls and boys. The program targets:

Young golfers seeking structured, competitive experiences

Families looking for affordable and welcoming pathways into golf

Junior club members across South Australia

Emerging players eager to develop skills, confidence and a love for the game

With TeeMates members able to access rounds at Valley View and Glanville for just $5, the program removes financial barriers and encourages ongoing participation.

Outcomes

The events delivered strong engagement and clear outcomes for junior golf development:

122 registrations for the Par Three series since inception.

Over 300 casual TeeMates junior rounds.

High-energy competition fostered skill development, sportsmanship and confidence

Both venues strengthened their reputation as junior-friendly, community-focused facilities

The success of the TeeMates program and Par Three Series reinforces the value of strong partnerships between venues, state bodies and national organisations in building sustainable junior pathways.
